Best wedding venues in Spain for a destination wedding

We don't rank venues by Instagram. We rank them by how the night actually runs, because that's the part couples can't see on a site visit.

Costa Brava: Castell de Caramany, Castell de L'Empordà, Mas Torroella. Medieval stone, generous outdoor spaces, venues that let you push to 01:00 without a fight. Castell de Caramany in particular has a stone courtyard that behaves acoustically like an amphitheatre. It's a gift for live music.

Mallorca: Finca Villa Almanita, Son Marroig, Son Togores. Luxury finca aesthetic, refined service, strict 00:30 curfews in most of the island. Plan your peak dancing for 22:00 to 00:15 and save the late close for an after-party off site.

Ibiza: villas dominate this island. Expect to pay for a full private villa rental plus all suppliers. The upside: no curfew in most private villas outside protected zones. Ibiza is the one island where a 04:00 close is genuinely possible.

Barcelona city and Empordà countryside: Hotel Casa Fuster for a central city wedding with rooftop ceremony, La Baronia and Masia Cabellut for Empordà countryside weddings with capacity for 180+. Casa Felix in Sitges is the wildcard — tiny guest list, big personality, unbeatable food.

Valencia: Molí del Ballestar is the best-kept secret in eastern Spain. Converted mill, olive grove dinner, less competition than Catalonia or the Balearics which means better prices and more availability.

Toledo and Madrid: Cigarral de las Mercedes in Toledo for a one-of-one setting looking at the old town across the Tagus. Madrid itself is tougher for destination weddings because most venues shut at 02:00 and food culture is less outdoor-dining friendly than the Mediterranean coast.

Our rule: pick the venue first, then the suppliers. Venues in Spain get booked 18 months out. Suppliers you can secure 10 to 14 months out. If you try to secure a band before the venue, you'll either waste a retainer or miss the date.
